My portraits are all created from a quality reference photo that you must provide. I start with a freehand sketch on the canvas, which I will email you for approval, and then I begin the painting process and can keep you as involved as you choose to be. Some clients want to only see the final product, while others want to see updates along the way. I work with your preferences.
Example #1
This reference photo on the left of an Italian Mastiff puppy is an excellent example of a high quality photo that shows a lot of detail in the face and it’s a very flattering angle. These types of photos make for the best portraits.
Example #2
This reference photo was most likely taken with a cellphone, which is completely acceptable. No need for a professional camera. But the photo was still able to capture the necessary elements for this portrait to come out with plenty of detail. Usually a close up of your pet will give the most detailed results in my work.
Example #3
The reference photo of this beautiful cat was a unique angle and made for a beautiful painting. I also really loved the colors of grey white and pink, so pretty!
